ABOUT THE PROJECT
It is unanimously understood that Europe is undergoing a major economic crisis. It is also widely accepted that entrepreneurship is the touchstone for the socio-economic development of every country. Some even argue it may be a solution for unemployment.
So, Veikiam.lt will host in Kaunas, Lithuania, the project “YES: Young Entrepreneurial Solutions”, a training course developed under the framework of the Youth in Action Programme which will involve 35 young people representing organizations from 10 different countries.
The aim of the project is to inspire youth to develop mindsets and skills that are the foundations of an entrepreneurial culture by having the chance to share experiences and perspectives with peers from other countries and develop ideas to support Youth Entrepreneurship.
All the partners of the project are aware that young people are interested in setting up their own business. We know so from the constant contact with youngsters and from the conclusions of diversified research. However, we also acknowledge that there are numerous barriers that youngsters have to face when attempting to create new ventures.
Being so, we will create a platform for training where the participants may, on the one hand, acquire and/or develop their entrepreneurial skills, and, on the other, act as multipliers and carry the developed competences to their communities and pass them on to their fellow countrymen.
The applied methods will be mostly non-formal, inviting for an active participation of all those involved, thus intending to generate an experience of great personal and professional growth with significant development of skills and competences that promote and facilitate the realization of projects and activities fostering youth entrepreneurship.
Finally, from this project we will develop a publication with different comic strips illustrating and applauding examples of successful experiences. This tangible outcome will be actively disseminated in the local communities of all the partner organizations and, simultaneously, made available online and divulged through different social media tools.
